Mobile Dental Clinic

The J. J. Keller Foundation got the bus project rolling with a grant of $300,000 to the state-of-the-art mobile clinic project. That represents nearly 50 percent of the funds needed to get the bus built and moving down the roadways in Winnebago, Outagamie and Calumet counties. The bus is used to provide much-needed oral health services to qualified needy children in this tri-county area.
“The most compelling thing about this project is the ability to bring dental care to the children, rather than bringing the children to the clinic,” noted Mary Harp-Jirschele, executive director for the J. J. Keller Foundation.  “Chances are the kids will get more frequent care with transportation issues resolved, and will learn about the benefits of a healthy mouth earlier in life.  The J. J. Keller Foundation is very proud to be a part of this important initiative.”
The mobile clinic is an extenstion of the TCD's free  "Robert Glass Focus on the Children" dental care program, first started in 2009, and made possible by an ongoing commitment from over 100 volunteer dentists (and generous financial donors) from the TCD's tri-county service area to help area residents living in poverty.
